How SarkariBaba publishes and updates guides

Public-service content is only useful when readers can trust how it was researched, when it was last verified, and how they can report changes. This page makes our editorial process fully transparent.

🎯 Mission and scope

We publish practical, step-by-step guides on Indian government schemes, certificates, land records, identity, finance, and citizen-service workflows. Our goal is to translate dense official documentation into clear, actionable guidance that ordinary applicants can follow.

🏛️ Independence pledge

SarkariBaba is an independent publication operated by Drish Labs. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or authorised by any government entity. Our editorial decisions — including what to publish, update, or remove — are made independently without government oversight or interference.

📋 What we do not claim

We are not a government department, legal office, tax advisor, or official helpline. We do not promise approvals, outcomes, or eligibility. We do not process applications. Readers must always confirm critical details on the relevant official government portal.

Methodology

Our research and publishing process

Step 1: Topic selection

We choose topics based on real reader needs — common government tasks that people actually search for and struggle with. Priority is given to schemes with approaching deadlines, frequently asked questions, and processes that have recently changed.

Step 2: Official source research

Every guide begins with research into official sources. We consult:

  • Government notifications and gazette entries
  • Official portal help documentation and FAQs
  • Press Information Bureau (PIB) releases
  • Ministry and department circulars
  • State government portal instructions
  • Official scheme guidelines and operational documents

We do not rely on social media posts, WhatsApp forwards, or unverified news reports as primary sources. When secondary sources are referenced, we clearly indicate the attribution.

Step 3: Content drafting

Guides are structured around practical questions that a first-time applicant would ask:

  • What is this scheme or service?
  • Who is eligible? What are the criteria?
  • What documents are required?
  • What are the steps to apply (online and offline)?
  • What are the fees? What are the deadlines?
  • Where is the official portal or office?
  • What are common mistakes or FAQs?

Step 4: Source attribution and linking

We cite official sources and link directly to government portals wherever possible. This allows readers to independently verify every claim made in our guides. We do not hide or obfuscate official source links behind tracking URLs or affiliate links.

Step 5: Date stamping

Every article carries a publish date and, where applicable, an update date. This allows readers to judge the recency of the information and decide whether further verification is warranted.

Step 6: Category and language tagging

Each guide is linked to at least one topic hub and, where relevant, a state or language cluster. This ensures that related content is discoverable and that readers can find guides in their preferred language.

Quality assurance

Updates, corrections, and content integrity

Update process

Government policies, fees, deadlines, and portal workflows change frequently. When we become aware of a change — through our own monitoring, reader reports, or official notifications — we update the affected guide and revise the update date. Changes are made transparently; we do not make "silent edits" to mask corrections.

Corrections policy

We welcome correction requests from our readers. If you find an outdated deadline, broken portal link, incorrect requirement, or any other inaccuracy, please send the following to query@drishlabs.com:

  1. The URL of the page with the issue
  2. The specific section or detail that needs correction
  3. The correct or updated information
  4. A link to the official source (if available)

Valid corrections result in an article update with a revised update date. We aim to review and act on correction requests within 3–5 business days.

Content removal

If a government scheme, portal, or service is discontinued, we either update the guide to reflect the discontinuation or remove it from active publication. Archived content may be retained for reference purposes with a clear notice that the information is no longer current.

Conflict of interest policy

Our editorial team does not accept payments, gifts, or incentives from government agencies, scheme beneficiaries, or political entities in exchange for favourable coverage. If any potential conflict of interest arises, it will be disclosed transparently on the affected page.

Advertising

Advertising and editorial independence

Advertising policy

SarkariBaba is a free-to-read website. We may display advertisements through Google AdSense and other advertising networks to support our operational costs. Advertising revenue allows us to keep our content freely accessible.

Editorial independence

Advertising does not influence editorial decisions. Our editorial team decides what to publish, how to structure guides, and when to update content independently of any advertising considerations. We maintain a strict separation between editorial content and advertising.

Specifically, we do not:

  • Sell "priority" editorial listings or paid placements within guide content
  • Accept payment for ranking guarantees on any article or category
  • Allow advertisers to influence the selection, content, or presentation of our guides
  • Publish "sponsored" or "paid" editorial content without clear disclosure

Ad labelling

Advertisements displayed on the Site are served by third-party networks and are visually distinct from editorial content. The presence of an advertisement does not constitute an endorsement by SarkariBaba.

Accessibility

Language and reader accessibility

Plain language commitment

We write in clear, jargon-free language. Government processes can be complex, but our explanations should not add to that complexity. We aim for a reading level that is accessible to first-time applicants who may not be familiar with official terminology.

Regional language support

India is home to hundreds of languages. Where resources permit, we translate guides into regional languages including Hindi, Bengali, Telugu, Tamil, Marathi, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Punjabi, and Assamese. Language availability varies by topic and is noted on each guide.

Reader contributions

We value reader input. If you would like to suggest a topic, request a language translation, or contribute a correction, please contact us at query@drishlabs.com.
